Adding smoke effects to the vanilla game.

Hey everyone, I have a question regarding American conquest modding.

So, I played a lot of Hawks' European Warfare mod and I really loved its smoke effects. How would I go about adding them to vanilla game. I don't want to change anything but the smoke effects. Is there a way to somehow take them from the mod and put them into my vanilla game folder.
