1.10 Rate of attack.

1.10.1 Rate of attack of fire power units.

List of maximum attack for the different shooting units and Attack rates ( the speed of attack.)

1.10.1.1 Without upgrades for faster firing.

So for example the Hungarian Hadju has 24 shot power (after upgrades) and 90 attack rate (24/90) . So this means the Hadju fires 24 power every 90 frames. This is when the upgrades for faster firing in the academy have NOT been done.

The fire power attacks, like the Hadju (24) can be found in chapter 1.9.4 Academy Upgrades  . So this is a comparison between the max strength / rate of attack of the different shooting units.

1.10.1.2  With upgrades for faster firing..

There are 2 upgrades for the rate of attack.

They both increases the rate of fire with 35% .

The first one Design Wheel gun lock   costs  550 gold and 2000 iron

The second one Design Paper cartridge and Iron Ramrod  costs 1550 gold and 21200 coal.

The cost of the upgrade s may vary a bit from nation to nation but never the percentage it increases( 2 times 35%)

So for example the Hungarian Hadju has 24 shot power and 37 attack rate (24/37) . So this means the Hadju fires 24 power every 37 frames. This is when the upgrades for faster firing in the academy have been done

The fire power attacks, like the Hadju (24) can be found in chapter 1.9.4 Academy upgrades . So this is a comparison between the maximum strength / rate of attack of the different shooting units.

Ok so whats the conclusion now?

On the list of the 17th muskets its only Netherlands that shoots at a faster rate. This is effectively the fastest shooting unit in the game

The unique units all fire at the same rate. So it comes down to fire power.

The 18th muskets normally fire once every 37 frames. The stronger units such as the Bavarian and Danish and Prussian all shoot at a slower rate. Surprise to me was Saxony, who fire’s faster than any other 18th unit at a rate of once per 33 frames. This is the second best fire rate in the game.

17th dragoons are the slowest firing units in the game. 18th dragoons attack rate is not superb, but its well compensated by its strong fire power(92) and heavy live(320).

1.10.2 Rate of attack of melee ( sword) units.

When looking at the various melee units in Cossacks, it is important to consider attack rate. Having a better attack or defense does not always translate to a more effective attack. A famous example is the Swedish 18thc pikeman. With a fully upgraded attack of 22 and a defense of 25, he appears stronger than the English 18thc pikemen (21:24). The fact is however, his rate of attack is a full 30% slower at 13 frames compared to England's 9. Tests between the two (130 vs 130) in the map editor show that England wins every time, with anywhere from 10 to 50 units leftover. 9 is the fastest melee attack in the game, and 22 is the slowest. Most units attack with a rate of once per 15 frames.
