| I asked my IT person from work about our problem.
He said that a "Virtual XP machine should solve the problem.
The below link will guide you through installing a virtual environmental that is identical in every way to a Windows xp setup. If you install Cossacks, or for that matter any game that runs on XP then it should work fine.

This is how to run the windows xp inside of Windows 8. http://lifehacker.com/5965889....ndows-8 There are a couple hacks to get it working, but this is a sure-fire method. After installing the "xpmode" machine, cossacks will have to be installed inside of that environment.
There are some notes lower on the page. I would print this out for reference before hand.
