Old map installer and Steam not getting along

| The old installer doesn't seem to like Steam's install path (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cossacks II Battle for Europe on my machine, Win7 64-bit).
An example of a map that doesn't work in Steam is this:

Any workaround for this?

| Do other maps install correctly? Or is it just the old installer?
If so I can try to replace it with the new installer for you.

| Well, all the 3+ player maps would be awesome.
I am having exactly the same problem, old installer says the game is running, new one works fine.

| I'm having the same issue, me and my two brothers are looking for 3-4 player skirmish maps for multiplayer, but alas the installer (the .exe file that requests you put in the games directory) doesn't properly work- once input it merely tells me it 'can't' and if the game is running to close it down and try again (The games not running). We've all got Cossack's 2 Battle For Europe on Steam.
Anything i can do?
