Nice work.

I am not well versed in American Revolution era and my favorite are Napolonic Wars, but I think that you do fine mod.

Could you tell me something about units balancing? I see you try decrease muskets accuracy and fire power.
You plan add auto fire. It will be only optional fire system or do you replece at all actual C2 fire system?

On theses screenshots we can see few interesting things as like:

* infantry fired volleys which do not destroy enemy's formations at once. It is very good. Do you decrease muskets accuracy and fire power there?

* formations fired cross another friendly formations. That is not good and what about friendly fire?

* cavalry formations passing trough infanty formations. This is common C2 problem and it is bad that still exist in your mod.

* officers and drumers are from NW yet. You will make new units there I suppose.

* you implement these big corn-fileds, where formations fight. It looks good. That small corn-fields around mills in C2 were so funny.

Regards

Nowy

thanks. as i stated this is just to see if ballincing is correct. still way more to come. yes im going to make officers, and that screenshot was where i toggled friendly fire on in the engine settings., and i didnt like it i use a base life of 1000, and each musket shot is 200. so thats why they dont break. and im not sure as to making the calvary not pass through troops

Excuse me, you should think over this case.

I understand that there is not enough places for open battles in C2 and therefore formations pass through another formations, but it is totally not realistic. Cavalry can not pass through friendly infantry formations where soldiers stay elbow to elbow. It is impossible because horses are big and heavy animals. Galloping cavalry passing through infantry could trampled infantrymen. It made disorder and even killed soldiers sometime. That’s why cavalry normally outflanked friendly formations or used intervals between formations which was ordinary regulations at that period.

Cavalry took an advantage with horses speed, weight and manoeuvre ability, however was vulnerable on muskets volleys. Therefore normally cavalrymen try outflanked formations and attacked (charged) on enemy’s wings or rear and only occasionally attack on formations front. Specially when infantrymen had not loaded muskets or fired at too long, or too short range.

In majority cases charging cavalry quickly destroyed (broke) infantry line or column formations. Therefore infantry used squares formations against cavalry, because it was closed formations which had many muskets and sharp bayonets.
