| AFAIK, whatever service was providing the multiplayer system for CII (I don't remember the name now) was shut down... long ago!
That means you'd be better off going for third-party options like Gameranger or Hamachi (though I don't know if there are any CII Hamachi communities).
So forget the CD key, it's not needed.
