Fortress of Akko (St. Jean d’Acre)
In 1752 in Akke the fortress has been constructed. In 1775  Ahmed  became the mayor (nicknamed Al-Dzhazzarom). Al-Dzhazzar restored a city, has constructed new mosques, a Turkish bath, has strengthened walls, has constructed the palace, a market. In 1799 thanks to the Jewish adviser Haimu Farhi and an English admiral of Sydney Smith could resist to the siege of a city undertaken by general Bonaparte. Napoleon's 13000 soldiers could not take a fortress. The French army has returned to Egypt.
